Corapi’s BlackSheepDog Website Is Gone

Okay, so I just read a Tweet from @Sr_Lisa where the news is that Fr. Corapi has shut down The Black SheepDog website. Remember, that is the one he created after not complying with the directives of SOLT (Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity), the order of priest he is affiliated with in Texas.

Everything seems to have just disappeared; The Blacksheepdog.wordpress blogsite is no more, the FB page I cannot find and of course the website is DOWN. So the ‘New Era’ is now the old era. The new journey The Black Sheep Dog invited all to join him on has lead to a dead end.

What does/can this mean? On Sr. Lisa’s blog site there were a few options introduced as speculation. In summation:

  1. He is hanging it up after not making enough profits to continue his new venture.
  2. He’s decided to reset his ‘spiritual compass’ (my words) and head back to SOLT after a few months of deliberation.
  3. He’s complying with a directive from The Holy See.

At the very beginning of his news worthy defection in 2011 I supported prayer for Fr. Corapi and those following him– today I still do.

I cannot presume to know what he is up to these days but God’s spirit in me desires that all roads lead to Jesus. You know as part of his story, Corapi gave our Blessed Mother credit for bringing him home once. Is it possible she is still guiding him home?

I ask for your prayer for myself, for Fr. Corapi and for all still on the journey in 2012.

I am happy that his blackdog site is gone….I visited it once – and got very “dark” vibes from it; thinking wow – he has given in to the devil. I enjoyed listening to him on relevant radio. What comes to mind, and in many of his talks, he spoke of us all being in battle with the devil in fact he believed that he himself had been attacked by the devil on more than one occasion. He would consistently press upon how critical it is to know and live the catechism, to pray fervently to Jesus and he spoke with such conviction about the power of the Rosary teaching us all how to ask for the intercession of Mother Mary. So how sad when all we have all come to know is ONE fact: He was found guilty. Why is it necessary to now write character attacks. He is a human being and he failed big time. The attack statements are speculative – - armchair quarterback statements. The other fact is, when he was true to God and his faith he postively impacted people’s lives in many ways and was able to reach war veterans in a profound way . I’d like to ask that attacks stop. Can you instead take a moment to reflect and appreciate the goodness he once brought to many? The new fact is that the way we can best help John Corapi is to pray fervently for him to Jesus and Mother Mary – let us implore her help and seek her intercession on his behalf, and ask Jesus and the Saints to help him find his way back to God and truth.

Thank you Theresa for your comment. I agree with everything you said however, I am a little perplexed. What ‘character attack’ are you speaking of? I only asked for prayer for him, for myself and all of us as I have done then and now.

I humbly suggest that this life may be seen as a journey, a walk of faith and hope in which we few are joined in common cause. And for awhile, a man, John Corapi, once chose to walk alongside us on this sojourn. John has now left us, chosen a diferent path, and we can not judge him for his departure. Yet we must continue on, perhaps saddened by the departure of our friend, but certanly sustained by the faith that guides us – a faith grounded in no man, save He who brought our salvation. Peace.

    Theresa,

This article was no attack on Fr. Corapi. Don’t make baseless allegations please.
